Minutes by Acting Colonial Secretary.
My recollection of this matter is as follows: One day, Mr. Gibbons called at this office and asked whether he could get back the letter (CSO.2329) he had sent in. He wished to withdraw it. I replied that I could do nothing in the matter without a written application. As he appeared, however, to be very anxious to get it at once, I suggested, as the Governor happened to be at Government House, that he should see His Excellency personally.
Soon afterwards, he returned and informed me that all was right.
